Volker Bätz (Head Recovery and Resolution Planning, formerly of Credit Suisse, and now Co-Head Recovery and Resolution Planning of UBS Group) discussed and shared his valuable and personal experiences on the very current topic “too-big-to-fail” (TBTF) such as the recent developments around the Credit Suisse/UBS merger with Finyon employees during the latest roundtable event.

Volker emphasized the importance of resolution planning, the need to understand a company structure F2B and was sharing his own experience with developing and implementing Credit Suisse’s resolution plan. He underlined the value of maintaining resolution capabilities and testing these to have resolution available as a credible option.

Reflecting on Credit Suisse’s recent crisis, Volker sees a robust communication strategy as essential and a key for success.
